SwingSmarter.com Presents… Chas Pippitt’s: Baseball Hitting Rebellion. I’m excited to finally introduce a true TITAN of the baseball hitting technique industry. A little about Chas…
He played baseball at Div I NC State and transferred to UNC Asheville to play basketball and baseball after his 3rd semester at NCSU. Basketball never worked out so he focused on baseball. He was 6’3″ 235lbs, ran a 6.6 second 60 yard dash, threw low 90′s off the mound, and could hit a ball as far as anyone during BP. Here’s an insight into Chas’s struggles with transferring his God given skill into the batter’s box, in his own words:
“It always bothered me that my coaches couldn’t tell me what I was doing wrong, so that I could change my luck in hitting. I figured as athletic as I was, that I could take real information and apply it but the advice was never specific, and if it was, it was always ‘high school harry’ advice, like ‘keep your elbow up’ and ‘you’re hitting too many fly balls’. They never gave me real technical advice that would actually improve my motions in my swing to make my results have a lasting positive change.”
Since then (and I’m semi-paraphrasing Chas’s words) he has literally devoted his life, since college (5+ years), to learning about and developing a system that is very specific technically, so hitters can work on real techniques to change how they deliver power in a swing. Baseball is one of a very short list of sports where your athleticism can be totally irrelevant. Only your technique ceiling should be your limiting factor, and with the quality of coaching Chas received, his ceiling was Division 1 baseball.
Chas is a teaching monster, he puts food on the table working with young hitters…he often works from 3-9pm through the week doing hitting lessons, all year long. Got that? He’s teaching that volume of hitters ALL YEAR ROUND, indoors, outdoors, and in rain, sleet, or snow, he’s teaching the proper swing. He does 40 lessons/week, done over 8,000 lessons since he finished his playing career in 2005, worked with at least 100 different families, and all ranging in ages from 6-26 years old in both baseball and softball.
The element of a good instructor is a ton of hours teaching, and as you can see Chas is quite popular, and is obviously getting his young hitters results or else they’d leave him. So wouldn’t you say Mr. Chas Pippitt is worth listening to?
Here is one of many Chas’s star pupils, we’ll call him Carl, pre-Chas & pre-Drive Developer (DD) Hitting System:
Here’s Carl POST-Chas the DD System:
His upper body isn’t very strong, evidenced by his sub-200lb bench press, and from his 60 yard time, not much “pop” in his lower half either. So, how did he go from hitting only 1 homerun in about 60 games, to 13 the next year?
Chas Pippitt from I.T.S Baseball, LLC and The Drive Developer Premium Hitting System he created is how. If it’s one thing you’ll learn here at Chas Pippitt’s Baseball Hitting Rebellion Blog, technique ALWAYS triumphs over athleticism any day. Super Technique allows a young hitter to consistently out-slug bigger hitters, period. Just look at Robinson Cano’s (6’0″, 205lbs) performance in the 2011 Home Run Derby (over hitters like Adrian Gonzalez (6’2″, 225lbs), BIG Papi (6’4″, 230lbs), and Prince Fielder (5’11″, 275lbs).
My goal in introducing Chas to the internet baseball hitting world is to give more great Swing Smarter content, not only for free, but I think he’s one of the best hitting technique masters out there and you all are going to learn a ton from him. Now, he’s quick to admit, he doesn’t know it all and is still learning, but he definitely has a leg up on all those “other” self proclaimed hitting gurus on the net and in popular media. He’s a prime example of combining his hitting prowess derived from standing on the shoulders of giants, and as you can see, grande (said in Spanish, meaning really BIG
experience teaching the swing.

I’ll have a small hand in participating on Chas’s Baseball Hitting Rebellion because I’m still full time with Swing Smarter Baseball Hitting Drills dot com and TheBestStarting9.com. I can’t wait to let Chas razzle-dazzle you with his content, and am anticipating learning some great new swing smarter hitting concepts myself
I hope y’all like it, see you in the Comments!

The bottom line?
Baseball Hitting Rebellion is starting its journey to:
“I.T.S. Baseball welcomes J.K. Whited to the fold as the area’s only Catching instructor. J.K. will also teach pitching and is the only CERTIFIED I.T.S. Baseball hitting system instructor ever other than Chas Pippitt.
J.K. had a standout career at UNC-Asheville where he started for 4 years behind the plate and was a captain as a junior and senior. Leadership skills are paramount when playing the catching position and those qualities literally pour out of J.K. on a dialy basis.”
This is Chas’s star protege and is wicked smart in knowing the ways of ITS Baseball Hitting Systems. Every time I talk to Chas on the phone it’s “JK this, JK that,” I finally had to meet this JK
In the future, if JK wants, he’ll be welcome to write articles for the Baseball Hitting Rebellion Blog, but for now, he’s agreed to help out in the comments. Welcome to the Club JK!!
